Hello

The boiler has stopped working, reset light is on. When presses the boiler resets for a few sec then stops again.

Anyone know what I should do?

Does the fan start and any sparking being heard?

Assuming it has been regularly serviced and looked after, it sounds like the ignition board that is attached to the gas valve.

This is an M90, Dave.

It could be a faulty fan, gas valve or ignition circuit. Apart from checking you have another gas appliance like a hob working and the test point on the top of the boiler is blocked with the tiny plastic plug, there is little that you are likely to be able to do.

Most of those will need a CORGI to investigate. The flue should also have been fited with a restrictor unless its longer than usual. Leaving it out can cause premature failure of the fan.

Kevinthe gas who posts on here covers the eastern parts of Bournemouth and may be able to help although he now gives his location as Southampton.

Alternatively there is Hinton Heating which I thought was in the Kinson area but now gives their address as Christchurch in Dorset!

Bournemouth apparently moved from Hants to Dorset in 1974 but you still sometimes see it shown as in Hants.

Hi thanks for the reply. ive looking into it a bit more now, if i turn the hot tap on and press the reset button the boiler fires up and there is a red light on, i think, the flow sensor. if i keep pressing the restart the water comes out of the tap hot. on the central heating the same happens but no red light on the flow sensor. so basically if i keep pressing the restart if get hot water but only lasts a minute. fan is going round fine, sparks up fine, pressures fine.

Why would someone who had a boiler problem nine months ago want to look at your building firms web site?

Its not even as if you are gas registered!
