Anyone worked as one? Started a position a few months ago. The boredom is unreal though. Anyone been through the same

In my heydays I was approached by a college to run carpentry classes on a free basis (they paid a symbolic amount).
I enjoyed doing it in their workshop, although there was the "qualified" lecturer watching every move.
My only gripe was with the h&s obsession, basically they wouldn't let the youngsters do things by themselves.
A few of them ended up coming to my workshop to learn how to use the machines and power tools and produced some very good stuff.
I remember a guy who carved a Jesus in a slice of oak, it came out great.
One of them I'm still in contact with still works as a carpenter.
Why do you find it boring?

When I was teaching for a short time, I didn't find anything boring.

You just got to put in a lot of effort and energy towards your teaching.

I trained up many kids in car/bike mechanics. I would never 'lecture' them though. Treated them similar to apprentices and we did real work on real cars in a real workshop.
