I'm putting a sink in my garage. luckily the water and drain pipes go up through a boxout (vertically) right next to where I want the sink.
So for the drain what would be the best way of doing this?
should I get a T section with a reducer piece to the sink or is there other methods like just drilling a hole in the waste pipe? should there be a u in the waste pipe to the main waste pipe to trap water so no smell comes back up through the drain or is there anything out there like that I should buy?
In terms of supporting the main vertical pipe what needs to done as I imagine once I cut a section out the pipe It will want to move or maybe it's held in place somewhere else which would mean I cant get my T piece on?
I've not actually opened up the boxout to look inside yet, I just know whats in there.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Rob

Assuming you have a 110mm plastic stack behind the boxing then fairly straightforward to fit a strap boss. http://www.screwfix.com/p/soil-strap-boss-sp319/49547 Use appropriate size holecutter in a drill to make hole in stack, then solvent weld strap boss to stack. Fit a 40mm boss adaptor http://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-boss-adaptor-40mm-pack-of-5/89174 and run waste to sink as required.

You will need a trap on the sink to seal the waste and prevent foul air from coming back into the room from the stack. Such as http://www.screwfix.com/p/tubular-swivel-p-trap-40mm/10970

top man, seems quite easy now. I'm thinking the plumbing for the water inlet should be straight forward. It's plastic pipe so just chop it and stick a T on it. (obviously turning the water off first) ;)

Water supply, yes put a T in, but plastic pipe needs to be cut correctly (use pipe cutters not a hacksaw!) and inserts will be needed in the ends before inserting the pipe into the fitting. (Or it'll probably leak....)
