Pointing a terrace house

How can you have damp proof injection if you have solid walls.Do you have round bays or rectangular bays in front of your house.

Solid brick walls can be injected as well as cavity walls.

How? Is it the case of using something similar to expanding foam between the courses of bricks to cover the little gap.I understand in those houses the 2 courses were not tied using steel ties, but alternate courses.

I think you are talking about cavity wall insulation with expanding foam in the cavity. Damp proof injection was done by injecting silicone into the brickwork. It only slows down the moisture passing through it and needs the backup of a waterproof render inside.
This often cracks in time and the damp proofing fails.

What makes you still concerned that the damp is being caused by the brickwork, I thought we had already covered this?

You said it is appearing 1 metre above ground level? Is this internally? Does the damp patch start 1 metre above ground level or is it damp from the floor up to 1 metre?

Damp patches start approx 1 metre from ground level
Approx 0,4m2.
Will try and get some photo's today.

If the damp is starting half way up the wall then it is unlikely to be anything to do with the damp proof course at all.

The painted bricks are not great but is unlikely to be the cause.

The main problem is how your tenants are using the property. They are drying clothing on radiators and the extractor fans in the bathroom may not be up to the task. This is putting a huge amount of water vapour into the air. As you have upvc windows and solid walls, the walls (or patches on the walls) will be the coldest surface in the house. All the excess water vapour will therefore be condensing on your cold walls!

You need to sort out that problem first! Then explore other causes.

It is always easier to focus/blame a possible building flaw rather than changing living habits.

Exclude one then look at the other opinions.

Your property is very susceptible to damp created by the people living in it. You need to make that clear to them and help mitigate it.

who advised for damp proofing.Did you check the cavity before injecting.Any chance of picture of front of your house.I have a similar house and had a full survey done.I have gathered a lot of knowledge through these forums and was able to sort my damp problems.
Will get a picture tomororw. (Damp proof "expert" recpmmended this cause of action.)
Walls have no cavity they are solid.

The chap who installed the orginal damp course has suggested he has used the wrong type of plastering (any thoughts on this )?

Needs a sand/cement render with added waterproofer/salt retardent.
