Hi

Been posting in the building sub thread around some damp under my window.

Been doing some inspection of the windows and noticed this piece was loose on both sides. When it pulled away a lot of sandy material come out.

I’ve not got any knowledge of window fitting so I could be wrong but this doesn’t look correct? Should there not be expansion foam in the gaps?

Masking tape on window just outside finished line.

Vacuum out dust.
Fill with toupret masonry filler. The boxed stuff.
Mastic down when dry

Sand? Have you noticed any ants around the outside? Ants tend to move chewed up mortar about so hence me asking about ants.
