Hi,
Apologies first if I'm submitting a query that has already been submitted.
My query is:
My box room was stripped back and skimmed (ceiling and walls) Nov 2021
Over 3 days my decorator has:
PVA'ed the outer facing walls and sized the inner walls.
Put wallrock thermal liner on the outer facing walls and easylining paper on the inner
Papered the ceiling and walls.
Put 2 coats of Johnstones Acrylic Durable Matt on the ceiling and walls.
At each stage I questioned the decorator - has it dried enough ---- YES - sure - YES
I am now left with what I call porcelain/mud cracking where the walls meet the ceiling, on the wall by the window recess and at some paper joints.
My decorator says it is 'paste on the paper' and wants to overpaint it with shellack and re- emulsion the offending areas.
The adhesives or paint has not been 'speed dried'.
What do you think of his solution?
Will I end up with a 'bleed through' of the sheelack?
Do I need to take down the paper and start again ?
I hope you can advise.
Frustrated.
