Soon after moving in we were devastated when our pipes burst in the master bathroom, resulting in a great deal of water damage to the bathroom and the living room ceiling underneath. Then our kitchen sink had a major leak, resulting in moderate water damage to the ceiling, one wall, and a bit of carpet. Then a pipe burst onto the concrete in the room with the water heater. Now we think we probably have mold circulating in the airconditioning vent because we removed two vent covers that were covered with mold.

I was wondering if you would all agree that there is probably a great deal of mold growing in the ceiling/walls/floors/vents (damage starting from two years to six months ago, we haven't had the money to fix the problem and were ignorant about mold as well) and if you all think that the mold is probably spreading continuously until it's professionally cleaned? One more question, would you agree that we should have the plumbing fixed, followed by having the mold removed from the ceiling, walls and floors, followed by replastering, and then have the airconditioning vents professionally cleaned of mold, all in that order? And how much of this process do you think we can do ourselves?

Thank for you reading and responding to this lengthy post. Have a good day!!!

Ventilate the property, open all windows and all doors all day if possible.
And yes fixing the plumbing would be a good idea.. once the source of water is removed the mold should slowly die.. It will need to be fully dried out before you can look at removing the signs of it.
DONT use the air con as mold spores in great volume can kill.
