Potterton Combi 80 problem

Hi Folks,

I have a Potterton Combi 80, recently it has been failing to ignite for both CH and HW, when you switch it on the pump starts but there is no ignition. The same happens when you turn on the tap the red light on the PCB comes on but no ignition. The other thing is this seems to be an intermittent problem because if you leave it and try it again later or the next day it works fine, then couple of days later it won't ignite again.

Any help appreciated.

Could be lots of things. Has it ever been properly serviced? Also the PCB's often get a joint melt its solder, top left corner of the board. Technically calls for a new board but I resolder them.
