potterton combi 80 ..... sparking but then lockout

Has anyone get any pointers to fix this prob
got no heat at all..
in both modes ch and hw.... boiler will start ignition sequence (sparkin good) but then lockout.
any tips for fault finding greatly appreciated

Check your gas meter!

anyway found the problem solenoid coil u/s on main gas valve

does anyone know to any cheap places for spares???

I dont know anywhere cheap but you can buy just the solenoid on its own.

Probably about £24.

Stocked by places like parts Center.

Trouble is they probably dont list it as a Potty spare and you have to find a similar one for another boiler.

Or was it on another boiler and its listed as a Potty spare?
