My boiler won't light. It goes through the start sequence - fan runs etc, and the spark works, but no flame.

I'm getting 240v between the black & blue wires going to the gas control valve, but there is no "clunk" of the solenoid operating.

I get about 30v between the white & blue wires, which drops off when the ignitor sparks.

I'm assuming from the, not too clear, instruction manual, that the black/blue wires are going to the pilot solenoid, and this is not operating.

Looks like I need a new gas control valve. Do you agree with my diagnosis?

I'm an electrician, not a gas fitter, and I won't be touching the gas bit. However, it would be handy to tell him what bit I need him to bring!

Forget my last post!

I've just had the gas board round - Our gas supply has failed!

No wonder it didn't light!


I'll go and put my boiler back together again!
