potterton puma 80 fault

hot water fine, almost instant but no heating at times and when it does decide to come on upstairs radiators heat fine but down stairs get warm at best. any ideas

I would check the pump as a first call.

pump seems ok, i'm thinking wax valve faulty and not allowing enough water through? reading faults on here they seem a common problem along with circuit boards
