Can anyone tell me how to drain this type of combi central heating I am removing a downstairs rad and removing pipes that are coming down from the ceiling so I need to drain the system but Im not sure how.

There should be a drain cock on every "drop".
If not, turn off rad valves.
Drain rad into a tray
Turn off boiler at this point.
attach hose to rad union and open rad valves each end.

ok thanks that made sense until the last bit about attach hose to rad union etc

would it be expensive if I got someone in to do this.
