Potterton Puma 80e Combi - timer making clicking noise?

Hi, I have a Potterton Puma 80e Combi boiler which has started making an annoying clikcing sound. The heating and water and timer all still work but the iregular clicking will not go. After listening and feeling arround I am pretty confident that it is the mechanical timer. Has anyone seen one of these do this before? The boiler still functions 100 but the sound is really annoying!

Any ideas, is this is a simple fix?
