Two Magnacleans were used on a powerflush today.
One on the flush unit and one installed on the return to the boiler before the flush. The boiler is an old Orion 40 BF.
Initially, a boiler swap was suggested by another installer(?), without a flush and without allowing for a filter of sorts.
How long would it have been before this sludge blocked and damaged the new boiler and invalidated the warranty?
A simple draindown does not remove this extent of sludge. The flow temp at the pump inlet improved by 23 degrees C.
Cowboys! Grrrr

Is that an aquamax in the background?

..... was on a magna clean but now on a Fernox TF1 ......

Any reason for the change, Transam?

Had several of the magna cleans leak , several on here have complained about similar problems B'G have now stopped useing them & gone over to Spiro's , some one else on here has said several time's times that the magna's are only tested to 1 bar & therefore are not suitable for sealed systems ?? we buy the fernox filters in 10's from plumbcentre & get them for £55 each , the problem with the fernox filters is or was that they were supplying them with O ring kit's for vertical up , horizontal BUT not vertical down so u have to ring fernox to send u the correct O ring kit it is free !! like the spiro's u can clean them without taking them apart , time will tell with these , ultimately I suppose the Spiro's are the better quality all brass lifetime of boiler ect the new one with the magnet looks the part ?

Transam
I have only had one, of lots, of a magnaclean leak on the isolation valves, and when it did, oh it did!
That was an early one though, when the concept was new, which is the same one that i drag around on my pump hose and it no longer leaks. Magnaclean now supply replacement O rings in the box, to get you through the 2 year guarantee
Its the devil you know though and the results are simply demonstrated.
Ill look into the ones that you buy bulk though.
Cheers
