Hi new to the site but looks interesting and helpful already. I have a Power Max+ installed when I bought my house 6 years ago I have had a few trouble codes in the past but all have been on the display panel and no problem to resolve. Now I have an alarm going off at approx 4am we turn it off with a remote from upstairs when I check the memory log no alarm reason is stored. I thankfully have the installers manual and code so I can carry out a full diagnostic test which shows no problems I have previously deleted one wireless contact as it was showing open, I have also changed all the batteries in the contacts and pirs .The battery in the control panel also shows good voltage but is original. I would be really grateful for any advice.

I assume the system is set when it activates?

Have you tried the log from within the engineers menu?

Have you pulled the mains off? Does the Battery take over?

Is it a full alarm? (internal & external sounders)

What is the "full diagnostic" tests you've carried out?

Is it always 4am? What time does your heating come on?

Many further questions await!

System is set
We only have an internal sounder
I have not pulled the mains yet but now will
The diagnostic test is as in installers manual walk test etc
Both logs show when I disarmed after the alarm and when I armed
I did however see in the installers log something like general restore
I have now cleared the logs as they have not been cleared for a long time
The alarm has gone off at approx 4am twice now our heating is on at approx 5am
I am just waiting to check the logs again when it goes off again.

From the symptoms and description I'm gonna stick my neck out and suggest it's the backup batteries in the control panel.

As per the the installer manual
Battery Test: Once every 24 hours, and once per hours during AC power loss

For some reason alarm panels seem to always test in the early hours!

I would go along with alarm man on this since you quote:-

" ..The battery in the control panel also shows good voltage but is original..."

A standby battery may show a good voltage but that doesn't necessarily indicate that it is in good condition. Six years is too long for a battery these days, although I have known them to last for longer than the percepted 3 to 4 years.

I haven't read much of your posts, but it would appear that the system is not being maintained by an outside source if a battery has been in a panel for more than three or so years.

The heating system may be something to do with it, but I would doubt that, since you have been there for six years. Still, it's always worth a glance.
