powershot sd 900 HELP

i own a sd900 its lens is stuck half way and refuses to go in or out when i turn it on it says lens error please help......... and i am having problems opening it help.

have you tried changing the batteries?
has the camera benn dropped, knocked or hit? if it has, sorry bin it, and get a new one.

( iaccidently hit my £400 fuji's lens similar problem, i binned it, as i had no warantee, if i had its not covered cost too much to fix

Breezer I don't know about these new digital jobies, but film camera & lens repairs always used to be reasonable,certainly less expensive than new equipment, I always think it is worth asking for an estimate & some tech help lines can almost diagnose over the phone.
