Nothing is rotten, and the existing paint is dry, and flaky.

Anyone got any handy new age methods to prep the spindles ready for a full Weathershiled system re paint.

I dislike using wet paint stripping products so wont be using any.

Heat gun and scape, then loads of hand sanding seems the way forward.

Has anyone used any of the 3m bristle sanding wheels? These things-

I'll just talk to myself then :)

Here's the before start work...

Abrasive pads and elbow grease every time - I've always found that any form of abrasive wheel either damages the detail or cannot get into the bits you need it too.

Please get your client to rip out that bl88dy awful aluminium door while they're at it - some people have no soul!

Newboy, I'm doing the one with the nice door (the other property is council owned).

4 days in with a gun and scraper, and a 80 grit wheel and then finish with a hand sand. The spindles nearer still need a hand sand finish.
