I have a Worcester Bosch 28 SiII combi boiler from about 2005.

Topping up the pressure via the filling loop when necessary (e.g. after bleeding radiators) is very awkward since the gauge takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour to react fully to a change in pressure.

All the guides I have read seem to imply that you can watch the gauge change while you top up, so I assume there is a problem with mine being so very slow... It has always been like this as far as I can recall.

What is the likely cause, and is it easy to fix? I have the HomeCare people coming to fix a leak in a radiator shortly, and was wondering if they might be able to look at this too.

Your pressure gauge is blocked and needs replacing its a 10min job but could indicate that your system water is dirty.

Thanks for replying - much appreciated.

I am having the gauge replaced shortly, and a magnetic filter installed to help keep the system clean.
