Prima Dishwasher

Existing Prima dishwasher is just over 4 yrs old, we've noticed that it doesn't seem to be rinsing very well but yesterday we noticed that the detegent tablet was sitting at the bottom of the machine and not fully gone, is this all a sign that not enough water is getting into the machine or the pump / motor that distributes the water is not working well. We normally have hard water round our way but we have a water softener so can't see that pipes are furred up, any ideas?
