My system is a gravity fed hot water system with a pumped central heating sytem. I changed the hot water cylinder which was a primatic cylinder and replaced it with an indirect one. I now have to fit a second tank in my loft and run two pipes to the feed and return on the cylinder as the previous supply to the heating system was from the cylinder . Am I right in thinking that the feed from the FE tank goes to the lower pipe and the vent goes to the upper return pipe.
My Central heating pump is situated above the boiler in my kitchen. I would be grateful for any advice.

That would be the minimum to reinstate the system more or less as it was. However, you should take the opportunity to put better controls in [and it is a legal requirement if you are a pro]. Put a mid position valve [Y Plan] after the pump on the flow from the boiler, take one outlet to the rads and the other to the coil on the cylinder. Your vent pipe should come off the flow between the boiler and the pump, with the cold feed close to it on the flow pipe. You will need a manual air vent on the cylinder flow. Don't use an S Plan; it is not as good for various reasons, including the fact that you would have two valves rather than one. You will need a cylinder thermostat; follow the wiring diagram supplied with the Y Plan valve.
