Hi, I have a primatic tanked central heating/Dhw system.
Question is, can i drain the CH system to work on it while continuing to use the boiler to heat Dhw? :?:

When you refill it leave the taps open same as draining it open the taps so it drains a bit quicker

OK, how about power flushing a primatic system, no chemicals of course. Is this possible?

Not unless you cap the cylinder flow and return off .
If you want to flush it best just take all rads off and hose them through in the garden

:) there is double 1400 x 600 in the living room, i'll have to get the mrs' to help

Much appreciated.
I intend to get rid of this system and have a combi installed, is this pretty much straight forward, like changing from any tanked system to combi or will flow/return of the heating system have to be adjusted under the floorboards?

No Jon, just altered/extended to where to combi will be sited. If you intend to replace the boiler soon, then I'd not bother worrying about a flush in the meantime & just ensure the boiler installer flushes it prior to the new boiler being fitted.

PS Please ensure you & your wife are wearing at least a good pair of sturdy shoe or boots. You wouldn't believe to number of DaftyDIYers I've seen doing major work in their SLIPPERS!!!....
