Priming stripped walls

I have just stripped my walls of the old wallpaper and am back to the bare plaster. What should I use to seal the walls before painting? Do I treat it the same as new plaster and use a thinned out coat of matt emulsion first?

One book I read suggests using PVA sealer but can the paint stick to the PVA???

What coolur is the bare plaster ?

Is there any evidence of excess paste on the bare plaster ?
