Hi, My mother-in-law has a Baxi Solo 3 PFL gas boiler and is having problems with it. The specific problem is that to get the central heating to come on you have to have the hot water on at the same time (you can have the hot water on by itself) and turn the hot water tank thermostat from 60 to 70 degrees. The CH will then work and the radiators heat up and can be controlled via the room thermostat as normal. I have no technical knowledge but do know this should not be the norm - and Baxi have confirmed this. It is out of warranty so advice on the best way to -get this fixed would be welcome.

Thanks.

I doubt very much it is the boiler.

You need to check for a 3 port valve or 2 x 2 port valves.

Sounds like the microswitch on the ch valve, or 3 port valve has broken.
