Hi,
I have a Barlo Duo boiler, and have been recently having problems with the hot water, which is supplied 'on demand', i.e. when the tap is turned on, boiler fires up (I don't know much, if anything, about boilers!). For a few weeks now, there has been this problem: when the tap is turned on, the boiler clicks quite audibly and repeatedly, or sometimes just gives one small click like it does when it fires up, except it then fails to fire up. Other times it is perfectly fine, and the CH is ok too. I told my landlord recently, and he sent a plumber round, who could not recreate the problem and as such could offer no explanation. It has now gotten muich worse - still intermittent, but much more frequently. I am trying to avoid calling my landlord again, in case the engineer comes back and has the same problem trying to recreate it, which would make me look rather silly. The pressure of the boiler is around .5 of a bar, although this recently dropped when the plumber had been round, but he told me how to repressurise it over the phone, which I have done again recently as it dropped to .3 of a bar. When the heating is on the highest possible, the pressure sometimes creeps up to 2 bar. Don't know if all this pressure stuff is necessary, just thought it might be related to a problem with this.
I would really, really appreciate it if someone could offer an opinion.
Many thanks
