I have been having problems with my boiler for several months now as the pilot light stays on for about 30 minutes and then goes off but it never goes on again. After repeated visits by an engineer they have told me that they have found the problem and I need the pressure switch changed however they have advised me that they no longer do the part. Apparently the part that is now manufactured is plastic whereas it used to be metal, the engineer has advised that this plastic part will burn out within a day so will not replace it.

I have been doing some investigating of my own and everyone who I have asked says that this plastic part is fine for my boiler so I don't understand why the engineer is saying that it isn't. Why would they make a part for the boiler if it can't be used???
Its really frustrating and one person is telling me one then and others are telling me something different. Apparently we now have to either live with the problem or replace the boiler which I really don't want to do

Please can anyone help????????????????????????

Pressure switches on apollos used to be plastic when they first came out so if manufacturer is making them out of plastic again then no worries get someone else
