We have a Ariston Dia 24 MFFI CE (about 7-8 yrs old). We are having problems with it igniting. If we turn the heating off and the water temp to minimum it will generally ignite, but if we turn the water temp above halfway then we get a "whooshing" sound from the boiler. We are not able to get the heating on - the red cut out light comes on.

We have drained the system and bled the radiators.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Your problem is probably caused because you drained your system! Why did you do that?

The auto air vent is probably faulty or just closed!

We had the problem before we drained the system (we did this after reading some posts on this site).

Sometimes it ignites - most of the time it doesn't.

How much wate rpressure have you? combis dont ignite below .6bar water pressure (system)
