I’ve just moved into a property that has an e tech plus 38 boiler

It was only installed in May 22 but the previous owners emigrated to Australia about 6 months ago so it’s not been used during that time and it’s not been serviced either.

Neither the heating nor the hot water was working when we moved in. Originally the boiler was displaying the error code 02.

E tech sent some one out this morning and he replaced the pump. Everything was working for about 10mins and then it’s stopped again.

Since then we’ve cleaned out the filter, which was full of sludge but the heating won’t stay on. The hot water seems to be working but the heating keeps cutting out and the display on the boiler just says ‘70’.

The guy from e tech said he thinks there’s no return on the hot water flow.

The heating does stay on for about 5 mins each time before the display 70 appears and it cuts out. Then we just reset it and it cuts out again and so on.

Does anyone have any ideas what to try next? Thanks

Filthy plumbing.
Drain it off, pull the rads off, flush them out, clean the tank, refill. Add cleaner, wait, flush, add inhibitor. (Assuming the above does work).

Go round all of the bits and bobs. Make sure trvs move freely and control valves open close properly.

Clean out any filters.

Make sure rad valves are all fully open when flushing and filling.

Read the recent comments on arguments about balancing and pick yer poison.

Other than that, draw the full system out, show it here.

Ps. Read my sig.

You need to get the error code looked at, get E Tech back, explain the first visit left you with more problems.
