I'm mightily confused by the engineers manual.

What I want is to be able to set the alarm overnight so that the downstairs sensors are active, but the upstairs one is not.

And then I want to be able to set the whole lot of them when the house is to be vacant during the day.

Is there anyway that this can be done easily - so easily in fact that my wife and children will be able to do this when I'm away from home?

If you are talking about the Accenta G4 lcd , then yes it is simple to do.You will need the engineers code , have a read at page 34 , you just need to set up program 2 , choose your used zones (leave out the upstairs zone), select an exit mode , dependant on your layout you may have to change a zone to timed.Assuming you have Single Key Set , its just a matter of pressing SET to arm the full system , or SET 2 , to night set.
