I'm always impressed by the basic software that people like Sarah Beany use. Does anyone know of a bit of freeware or cheap software that is easy to learn and gives decent plans?
The noddy version of Google sketchup is free and works a treat and can also give you 2d plans & eles etc to print off, for producing images/walkthroughs etc suitable for presentation though you'll need to get your wallet out. Doublecad XT is free and is apparently good for 2d stuff although it seems a little complex for a newbie and tbh I've never used it other than to play around in as I'm an AutoCAD chap.
