Hi all, have a Bungalow, two bathrooms and a kitchen, all fed off a tank in the roof and cylinder at ground level. The hot water to one of our bathrooms is pumped, the problem is that you turn hot tap on water runs fine for a few seconds and then stops and so doe's the pump, you get a trickle and then it starts pumping again, this can happen several times before the basin is filled. Any thoughts on this problem, the system was in when we moved in. Thanks for your time.

Standard DIY instyallation. It's sucking air down the vent pipe cos it's connected in the wrong place.
You need a "flange". There are several which would probably work. The best and easiest to fit once you've got your head round having to drill a 37m or so hole in your cylinder, is an Essex Flange.

Warix or Surrey will do, depends how the pipes are.

A 22mm feed pipe from cisten to cylinder makes things worse, 28mm is better.

You can also get into bother if the HW is over about 63 degrees, so try turning it down, but it's more likely the connections.

Hi Chris thanks for your input, will be taking your advice. Thanks for your time m8. :D
