Hi all,

I am in the process of buying my first house and need some advice.

During the survey they have advised that " One purlin was poorly supported and repairs are required".

Here is a photo of the support in question.

It looks like the bricks have simply moved a bit or have been put in sideways?
I am just looking for some advice on what to do? It doesn't look a hard job, I'm just unsure on the best way to tackle it.

Thanks in advance.

Frankly, it's not 'poorly-supported' - the surveyor just has to look for something. Angled purlins are always difficult to build into the wall and in theory it is resting on a Knife-edge. Just pack stiff concrete/mortar under and around it to make it look as though something has been done.
