Putting a washing line into patio slab

I think the diameter of the plastic tube which holds the washing pole is 35-38mm. Can you get an sds which will drill this?

I guess you'll need a core drill for that one - easily hireable - but ideally the socket needs to be cemented in so allow for that.

If it is a post, for a washing line, then it will need to be dug up and set in concrete - otherwise in time it will simply pull over. One of those rotary lines is less critical, as there isn't the constant pull to one side. A core drill will make the hole in the slab, and can be hired.

I once tried to use an SDS bit to drill the hole for the pole. It cracked the slab. I wish I had used a core bit.
