PVA on walls next to feathered skim

I’ve had an opening boarded and skimmed. Noticed that the plasterer has rolled on what I assume is diluted PVA?

I expect that I’ll have to lightly sand the feathering in before I paint.. how will the PVA fair though? Do I need to do anything before I start painting over it?

You may need a fine surface filler on the edge to get a smooth finish , skim alone may not do that .
