Pvc tile trim

I have 7mm thick tiles 20/25 and will have the cut edge around the bathroom window.
I have seen in Wickes and B&Q(homelux) 9mm pvc trim which a 7mm tile will fit in the "overhang" ie the cut edge would be hidden, is this the way these trims can/should be used?
