Why do people mitre the beads back at the ends?
I've never done this, i've always just cut them square.

I'm curious. :)

This answer might sounds a bit daft, but cutting them back at an angle on the end, rather than square, makes them easier to fit.

Roughcaster.

Sometimes when fixed into position the ends bend & peel back, can be a right pain to get back straight so easiest remedy is to cut them off at an angle with the tin snips
