the walls and ceilings have just been plastered this week so it is bare plaster that the paint will be going on to.

will a cheap emulsion do just as well as undercoat before good dulux paint is applied ontop

was thinking of getting some of the homebase ownbrand white emulsion instead of undercoat as it may work out cheaper.
 
A cheap emulsion will be fine no need to undercoat skim, just a thinned emulsion acting as a mist coat is all you need.
