Hi all
I'm installing an outside light for security. I have taken a spur from an upstairs socket, connected to switched 5 amp FCU and drilled a hole through the wall to run the external cable. I know the cable needs to be 1.5 however what's the best external cable for the job. Spoke to a spark briefly and he mentioned a type of cable (but I forgot  ) takes into account sun and temperature rise & drops.

Can anyone let me know what's best

The cable will be raised so won't need to go near ground level.

Cheers

Thanks for your reply. SWA is overkill, I have this at home and is a pain to work with. I will look at this cable to order

Change the fuse for 3A unless the light is over 690w.

Use a rubber based 3 core flex if the distance isn't too far and the weathering will be light.
