Can i run the hot water on my central heating combi boiler system when my central heating system is not pressured up ie drained down? Obviously the central heating will be switch off at this time.

Depends on the boiler. But probably not.

depends on the boiler, probably yes.

isolate the heating flow and return and just drain the system. Leave the pressure in the boiler and it should work.

as Dan said, it all depends on the model really.

Im guessing you're making alterations to the system?

If it is just a temporary measure while you carry out work on the system then you should be able to cut the flow and return pipework and connect them together near the boiler leave about 1M on each if possible then link them together and pressurise the boiler, use something like this.
