Hi, in our block of flats we have tension catches on our wardrobe doors. These are loud when closed, both from the force needed to overcome the tension catch and when this is achieved the door hits the frame. When the neighbours above us close their doors it makes us jump below !

Does anyone know of a replacement latch that will make closing of the doors quieter ?

I looked it to fitting sprung hinges and using a soft close piston but replacing the hinges is looking impractical

Is there such a thing as a sprung butte hinge where the spring only activates after it is about 30 - 40 degrees shut ?

thanks

Why do you need a sprung closer anyway? Wouldn't the existing hinges and magnetic catches do the job? It's not as if it's fire door after all.

If the wardrobe is so stuffed that you can't get the door shut, try chucking some clothes out. Those flares will never come back into fashion!
