If you have enough money you can organise things to not pay tax if you're linked to the stock market - which you probably would be.
Remember IG - urging people to use S&S Isas?
Through them, uniquely in the UK, you can use things like spread betting on index futures to multiply your money in a year. Handy if you have a spare million or so. All tax free. Some risk, but looking over time, not much at all.
