radiator removal

Afternoon
I have a radiator in my kitchen which doesnt work.
I was going to remove it altogether and just put an electric heater in there.
Can i just cut the pipes near where it enters in the kitchen (its about 3 meters of piping away from where the radiator is) and just isolate it?
It comes up through a concrete floor, so i wasnt sure if it was that easy?

Do you really want an expensive to run electric heater, when your rad is probably easy to fix?

Many dead rads are caused by sticking thermostatic valves. If you have one, remove it's head, and move the pin underneath up and down only a few mms. Don't go mad. Your rad may work.

Also, check the valve the other end is open. At the worst, it will be a new valve or two needed.

If you want to take the rad out, drain down system, and cut the 2 pipes a few inches above floor. Then solder on some end caps, or fit a couple of compression caps.
