I have a stash of celetex offcuts kept outside.

Today I went to select a few bits for a job and discovered the foil has been nibbled away completely from the bottom 18" and there are some big chew holes!

Wtf

Anybody seen this?

Im just about to start insulating the floor of the garden cabin Im building. Its a suspended timber floor with 70mm celetex in between. I hope its not gonna become 25mm in a years time

Notch7, good evening.

Yes I have seen rodents Rats and mice having a lunch on such materials, I have often wondered if they have turned to insulation and other things because of its easy availability or is it because there is a lack of other "food sources" in the area?

Get a hold of Rat poison and place in the immediate vicinity of the stock pile of Insulation you have, to accelerate the consumption try placing a blob of Peanut Butter in with the poison, Mice for one love that stuff?? must say I do not like Peanut Butter?

The oddest one I have seen is when there is rodent damage to electrical Twin and Earth cables ?
The outer sheath is eaten away.
The insulation surrounding the two wires is also part eaten, but? only removed from opposing sides of each cable leaving an in-tact area of insulation covering where the cables meet each other.

Last resort? get an Air Rifle and a night sight fitted to it? [at least in England you can still purchase such a device without first having to get an Air Weapons License, that system is about to descend on England?]

Ken.

You should see the cable going to my cooker! Interesting that it's similar to your description Ken.
