Hi i have a ravenheat bolier and the pilot light is on and working well central heating running fine but the water is running hot and cold, i have been told that it is a valve and i got in touch with raven heat and they say it is either the gas rates or the sensors which is not a big job, don't mind paying for the job to be done but don't want to by parts that i don't need. Need some advice please Katie.

It could also be a sludged up secondary heat exchanger. You need a heating engineer who knows Ravenheats well. Where in Yorkshire are you?

Ravenheat technical advice team are very good , in my experience with them.Correct in stating that the high and low gas pressure settings of the gas valve should be as printed within the owners manual. The sensors , if they require replacing , are easily purchased from Partscentre , cost around ten pounds each.Another point , there is also a domestic hot water thermostat , operated by a dial on the front fascia of the boiler. This is operated by a potentiometer ,this part can also cause problems , but is also easily obtained.

Poster hasn't identified the boiler model yet, so we don't know!

Does that make it an 820? Is that the only one with a pilot light?

And I guess they all have double heat exchangers and no secondary heat exchangers? So you're right.
