Hi all,

Hope you guys can be of assitance.

I have had my boiler installed last year, and since spring we have a problem with CH. The red warning light comes on when i switch it to CH?DHW. Now DHW was never a problem untill recently we installed a shower. After 15 minutes the red light will go on.
After reset it usually will work for taps only, but recently even that will not work.

I have taken the cover off to look at the flame, and cannot see anything happening. I've seen a spark once but I tried again and didnt see anything. (or i missed it)

Nothing major has changed. We had the water off a few times because of the bathroom work.

Any of you guys have an idea of what to try or what it could be.

Cheers!

Giovanna

I think that you are experiencing the effects of a faulty fan pcb. It has now been redesigned. It should be covered under the warrantee.

You should not have been opening the combustion chamber.

Hiya,

Thanks, could that be a intermittend fault? I tried downloading the manual from the site, but the bit with the faultfinding is badly scanned and cant read it.

I didnt open anything just the cover, not the chamber. Normally you can see the little flame, as there is a window in it. But since this one is automatic ignition the window is behind the cover. I dont go messing around, just wanted to see what happened when i switched on the DHW and opened a tap, like with the old versions

The problem occurs when the boiler is not on full demand. Its not an intermittent fault but it only locks out when it modulates back.

DHW normally uses the boiler towards full power. Your shower will have less flow than the hot tap and more likely to cause the boiler to demonstrate the fault.

Run a hot tap with the shower and it will not lockout!

Hi Tony,

just tried that but it locked out as soon as i ran the hot tap, similar when i switch it to CH/DHW. When it all started it would lock out when I switched on the CH but only after 30 minutes. Then it was immidiatly and now DHW is playing the same game.

Cant believe the trouble I am having..

Well I have told you what the fault is likely to be!

Short of coming to fix it myself I dont see what else I can do for you!

Much as I love the Balti Mile, its a long way for me!
