Hi,
I'm trying to get the air out of my central heating system gravity fed since draing down. I have been told that if i put the pump on while i have a hose connected to the drain off point downstairs that it will do it. I thought if I had the pump on while doing that I risk the chance of sucking in more air? am I right or wrong? thanks ps all the radiators are full but air bubbles are travelling out of the transparent hose pipe. thanks again

Which transparent hose?, the one you have on a lower drain off?.
To purge the air you start at the bottom and work up, having air purged at the highest point. From your post the cylinder vent

Thanks Craig,
I have done that thanks. what do you thinks regards my friends advice to run the system with the drain off hose attached?

This should only be needed as a complete last resort

Stick to normal bleed methods with heating and pump off.
