Hello. My boiler has decided not to work with the timer anymore (dial style with pegs to indicate time??). Is there a temperamental side to the timer or shall I assume it is dead! I am a total newbie to this type of thing so I thought I would ask advice before running down to buy allsorts when I need something different!!! I thought I could survive but with a young family I now realize the timer is essential.

Is it a difficult job to replace???? I have seen a timer on a boiler supplier sites for £50.

Many thanks

Do you mean the CH is permanently on? Best to buy a Honeywell CM67 stat/programmer and replace the room stat with it. Just leave the boiler clock on 24/7. The CM67 is so much superior and has a built-in boiler anti-cycle functiion too. You can set the temperatures at different times of the day.

Thanks for your reply. The heating can still be turned on with manual setting. My problem is that the timer is no longer working. Everything else seems to work fine.

Thanks again

What Water systems means is that there is a programmable room thermostat which would do the job of your timer, but would actually do it better. It runs on batteries so you just have to get someone to replace the existing room theromstat with it using only two of the present leeds and terminating safely any remaining leeds. The two you use are C (common) and NO (Normally Open).

Then you override the built in clock to stay on all the time.

Or you can buy an Alpha mechanical clock from pts (plumbing trade supplies) I don't know the price.

The built in clock has four connectors to pins 1, 2,3 and 4, no connection to 5. 1 and 2 are 230v 3 and 4 are the control signal.
