I have a wall that I want to repoint and wanted some advice on the best mixture for it?

The house is a 1900s property; the walls that I want to repoint are Internal and is Load Bearing.

What is the best sand to use for Repointing? Plastering, Shape or Builders?

I wanted to use Hydrated Lime in the mix (with Sand and Cement) I was thinking of a 1:1:5 mix, 1 part Lime, 1 part Cement and 5 parts Sand.

Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you.

Builders sand for mortar. You can add a single part sharp if the gaps are deep to make it a bit stiffer and reduce shrinkage.

I agree with a weak cement:lime mortar.
