I’m trying to add water to my boiler to bring the pressure up and I understand in principle how it should work but I don’t understand why we have a red leaver on the left instead of a blue one and the red one doesn’t turn?! Any advise?

just get apair of pliers onto the red one to turn it you wont damage it
That valve is always a lot stiffer than the right hand one .
And although you are meant to turn both back off most people just leave the lefthand one on(red) and use the right hand (blue) to fill in future

It worked! Thank you so much
Great. Keep an eye out for radiator leaks or an expansion related issue (pressure would rise into the red if heating is on), in other words, don’t just keep topping it up unless you want to cause issues further down the line.
