I gather that sales of creosote are now outlawed due to its chemical content; if re-using old wood that has been creosoted, and rip-sawing off the top layer, to get to 'clean' wood, are there any special precautions to be taken besides face mask at time of cutting? Does the sawdust need to be treated as hazardous waste, for instance? Is it socially irresponsible to scatter the sawdust and cuttings over a dump site?
