I'm convinced that governments almost welcome terrorism (well they certainly welcome in those likely to commit terrorist acts) so that they have an excuse to turn their countries into police states. The more atrocities there are, the more the populace willingly bends over and welcomes their freedoms being 'withdrawn'. In the name of counter-terrorism.

Agree, not a new phenomenon. Just surprised at the inventiveness of governments and the gullability of those they rule over.

And where would we be without conspiracy theories?
